Community School of Davidson

Community School of Davidson needed room to grow without losing the collaborative culture at the heart of the school. Insight transformed a 71,000-square-foot industrial building into a flexible high school organized around a central “learning street” that brings daylight deep into the building and creates natural places for students and teachers to gather, connect, and exchange ideas. The project was planned in phases so the school could expand as enrollment increased while minimizing disruption and rework to completed areas. The result is an adaptive-reuse solution that gives an unconventional existing building a new life as an open, engaging learning environment.
