John graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1990 with his Bachelor of Architecture degree. Upon graduating he worked in a prominent design firm in Oklahoma specialiiing in both public and private sector projects. Since moving to Charlotte in 1994, John has worked for design firms that have specialized in adaptive reuse, educational and entertainment projects. In addition, John has been involved with higher education projects throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia before forming Insight Architects in 2003.

John is currently on the Charlotte Historic Landmarks Commission, the HLC Design Review Committee, and the NCDDA (North Carolina Downtown Development Association) Board of Directors. He believes that giving back to the community is a vital part of his personal development.

His experience has given John extensive knowledge of how challenging projects are designed and constructed. He has a talent for looking at both the big picture of each project and also paying attention to details related to the scope and budget of the client. John strives to provide service that exceeds the expectations of all parties to provide a completed product that everyone can be proud of
